Spier: Same Old BS From Bush

by Bill Spier, right

I thought I would take some space to debunk Bush's slippery SOTU BS, but Think Progress and Dave Haigler covered the BS very well.

Corporate media is trumpeting Bush's "America Is Drunk On Oil" spin as an awakening in today's papers. But on the previous day, they all reported that Exxon-Mobil profits for the year are greater than the GDP of Saudi Arabia. Only hardwired believers in Republican and corporate propaganda and addicts of American Idol will miss the irony in all this.

Every year, Bush says we must tackle problems in healthcare, fossil fuel use, the "terror" threat, and the lack of democracy throughout the world. The latter issue metastisized from a simple grab for resources in Iraq to a madman's delusion.
