As previously reported early yesterday here in DemLog by Dave Haigler, Vice President Dick Cheney (Right, picture pilfered from firedoglake.com) shot a 78 year old hunting partner in the head and neck 18 hours before it was reported to the press. The spin started after everyone’s story was organized into one neat statement: The victim was in the wrong place and his condition was stable.
My sources tell me that Cheney was actually warming up to be the executioner of Saddam Hussein. The victim was selected because of his chairmanship of the Texas Funeral Commission. A free interment was considered a plus for an otherwise expensive practice round.
The White House reported that Justice Antonin Scalia was not present.
D.H.: Is that because Nino is not into Texas quail? Louisiana ducks with Dick at his side, yes, we know. Is that an originalist distinction?
WDS: Scalia, who is known to hunt in a Tyrolian hat with a tail feather belonging to the last recorded living bird from Sicily, was overhead saying: "There by the grace of god ...."

D.H. reply: Uncle. You one-upped me, Bill.
