DH: Abilene Dems join WCW protests

Everman Park gang of 16 DemsAbilene, Feb. 1 - A group of 16 Abilene Democrats, left, staged a protest of President Bush's State of the Union address at Abilene's Everman Park last night, joining "World Can't Wait" protestors throughout the country.  (Click on pictures to enlarge.)
Democratic Club President Roger Spier, M.D., organized the protest.  Club Vice President Allen D. Glenn, a retired attorney, carried a sign painted by his artist wife, Esme Glenn, saying, "Lies, No-W, WMD, Weapons of Mass Deception."  Others in attendance included John & Kay Pettit, Larry Doty, Barbara Backus, and Jim & Jewel Halford.
